The National Sports Centre's electricity use is the same as boiling a kettle every minute of every day for a year, it's been revealed.
A Freedom of Information request to the Department of Education, Sport and Culture asked how much electricity the Douglas facility used between April last year and March this year.
In its response, the department said it had used 1.85 million Kilowatt-hours - the equivalent of boiling 1,690 kettles every day.
An average home uses between 800 and 1,000 Kilowatt-hours a month.
