The chair of the Island's Housing and Communities Board says there isn't enough time to bring in new legislation before the next election.
In the House of Keys this week, David Ashford was quizzed by Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas about the Housing and Communities Bill, designed to modernise housing law.
Mr Thomas wanted to know why the bill had been taken off the government's to-do list.
