Treasury Minister Alex Allinson says nobody will miss out on benefits or pension payments as current MiCards approach the end of their lives.
He faced a question in Tynwald this week from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson about the scheme as the Treasury tries to issue new cards by the end of the year.
Dr Allinson said some people will be able to get payment by cheque if they don't have bank accounts to pay into.
But he said he couldn't give any figures yet:
