No plans to demolish Castle Mona

No application has been submitted to demolish the Castle Mona in Douglas.

The Department of Infrastructure says the Planning and Building Control division has not received any demolition orders.

That's despite a petition being set up which calls for it to refuse the 'proposed demolition' of the building.

Registered on the change.org website it calls for government to enforce its status as a protected building - it also wants it to be considered as part of the Manx National Trust.

A spokesperson for The Sefton Group, which owns the property, says it has never sought the demolition of the registered building.
