No specific action is being taken to readdress the gender balance of healthcare assistants at Noble's Hospital.
That's the message from the Department of Health and Social Care - statistics released this week show there are 201 female health care assistants compared to just 29 male.
The department says the Manx Government is an equal opportunities employer and recruitment is not targeted at either gender.
It says it is working with the Department of Economic Development to increase opportunities within the care sector which it believes will make it more 'attractive' to candidates of all genders.
