Treasury Minister, Alf Cannan MHK, says there's no evidence to suggest a rise of in-work poverty on Island.
His comments came in written response to a question in Tynwald this week from MLC Tanya August-Hanson, who'd asked what plans the minister had to address the issue.
Mr Cannan added the treasury has introduced a series of measures to lower the risk of anyone falling into poverty.
These, he says, include the minimum wage increase from October this year and the rise in income tax personal allowances.
