The Home Affairs Minister says he doesn't think police have lost any evidence in recent years - because he hasn't read about it in the press.
In the House of Keys this week Bill Malarkey was asked by North Douglas MHK David Ashford how much had been lost in the last five years and how much it was worth.
In a written reply Mr Malarkey said the Isle of Man Constabulary doesn't record when evidence is lost and so he didn't have any figures available.
But he said lost evidence would get considerable coverage in the media - and his department can't recall any such news stories being published.
