There will be no camping at the Sulby Claddagh during the 2023 season, whilst the toilet block is demolished.
The temporary measure is in place from Easter to September, with people still able to use the area during the day.
Government - who run the facility - say in recent years the site has been 'hit by rising costs - meaning it's run at a significant loss.'
A consultation is currently being carried out to gather views on the future of the campsite.
Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture Clare Barber says the common land could have many community uses and she hopes to hear people's ideas.
She adds ' My department is committed to finding positive and sustainable outcomes for our Island that are cost friendly.’
