New UK laws covering border security, asylum and immigration can apply on the Isle of Man after officials here contacted Westminster.
This week, MPs discussed new laws being guided through the UK parliament by Minister for Border Security and Asylum Dame Angela Eagle.
During a public bill committee sitting in London, she faced questions over whether the new laws would apply to the Isle of Man if voted into force.
She told members the Isle of Man had already confirmed the legislation could be extended here.
