New Service Reservoir to be Built in North of the Island

New Reservoir Will Service 5,000 Properties in North and East of the Island

The Isle of Man Water & Sewerage Authority has been successful in its application to construct a new reservoir in the North of the Island providing water for 5,000 properties in the surrounding area.

The reservoir was first approved by Tynwald back in 1999 as part of the Authority's Strategic Business Plan.

The reservoir will be able to hold 6.5 million litres of water and will be three times the size of the existing one at Ballure, the new one will be based off the Glen Auldyn Road in Lezayre.

Work is set to begin on the new reservoir in early 2011, with work expected to take around 18 months to complete.
