Government has announced new rules around exercise for people who’re in certain types of self-isolation.
From Thursday (March 11), anyone who’s been told to quarantine because they’re a high risk contact of a Covid-19 case and has received a negative test result will be able to leave the house for one hour of exercise each day as well as their household members as long as they and no member of their household have tested positive.
When exercising outside, a face covering must be worn and social distancing observed.
Members of the same household can exercise together but cannot mix with other households.
In limited circumstances where someone travelling to the Island is allowed to isolate with another household, that individual will be able to exercise outside the home for one hour each day along with that household provided their first and second Covid-19 tests come back negative and no other house member has tested positive.
However, in both scenarios, if any house member develops Coronavirus symptoms or tests positive, the whole house would have to isolate and won’t be allowed to leave their accommodation.
Government says the changes reflect the challenges some people may face as the virus spreads among homes when self-isolation resets with each new case and, as a result, will last a longer length of time.
