A new deal between Stena Line and Peel Ports Group will see improvements made to Heysham Port.
The Swedish ferry company will now operate from the port for the next 77 years, until 2100.
The partnership will see new terminal management and a 'smart gate' automatic check in system to improve customer experience.
It will also increase the parking for trailers.
