The government's introducing new laws that would let it get rid of low-denomination coins.
When the House of Keys sits on Tuesday, Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson will introduce the Treasury (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill for its first reading.
The law would allow the government to withdraw 1p, 2p and 5p coins from being legal tender in future - although notes with the bill say there are currently no plans to do so.
It would also let government order businesses to round off prices to the nearest 5p.
