New government agency aims to improve access to affordable housing

A new housing agency is being created within the government, to help speed up the construction of affordable homes.

The Department of Infrastructure hopes the agency will improve access to government owned social housing. 

The new division will take over the department's social and affordable housing scheme, with its current employees running the agency.

The government is now seeking unpaid, external board members to help oversee its work and to make sure it involves a wide range of perspectives.
