\'Highly experienced breast surgeon\' set to start work in 2012
A new general surgeon is set to start work in the Isle Of Man
The Department of Health announced today that a highly experienced surgeon has taken the role - she'll be starting work early in the new year subject to pre-employment checks.
The decision to appoint a general surgeon with an interest in breast care was met with anger by some, who regarded the decision not to retain a dedicated breast surgeon as a reduction in the quality of care.
The surgeon, who hasn't been named as yet will take on the Island's breast care programme.
