New Council of Ministers announced

The Chief Minister has announced his new Council of Ministers. 

Alf Cannan will take charge of the Island's purse strings in the Treasury department - despite never having held a ministerial position before. 

Liberal Vannin Party Leader Kate Beecroft will take over the Chief Minister's previous job as head of Health and Social Care. 

Douglas South MHK Bill Malarkey is the new Minister for Home Affairs - taking over the position from the newly elected Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson. 

Returned MHK for Douglas Central Chris Thomas will run the Department of Policy and Reform - taking over from recently retired John Shimmin. 

Laurence Skelly hasn't been reshuffled - he'll stay in his office in the Department of Economic Development.

The Department of Infrastructure will now be run by Glenfaba and Peel MHK Ray Harmer - he takes over from Phil Gawne who failed to maintain his seat in the election. 

Graham Cregeen will be head of Education and Children - a department previously run by MLC Tim Crookall.

Glenfaba and Peel MHK Geoffrey Boot is the now the Minister of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
