The Coastguard says a new, quieter helicopter should mean less Douglas residents are woken up during night-time rescue missions.
A medical transfer over the weekend used an AgustaWestland chopper.
The emergency service describes it as smaller, and more agile than the Wales-based Sikorsky aircraft which previously carried out most transfers.
It adds the AgustaWestland also makes less noise, making it less disruptive for those on the ground.
