Government figures show there have been three times more crashes on the New Castletown Road than the older route.
This week in the House of Keys, Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asked Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey for details of accidents on both roads.
Over the past five years, there have been 10 crashes on the Old Castletown Road and 31 on the New.
Just one in ten of those was serious, and only one person lost their lives in incidents on either since 2013.
