New archaeological research project to take place on Island

Prehistoric Manx 'round mounds' will be investigated by UK researchers.

Round mounds are earthen mounds built over human burial sites found throughout the British Isles and in Europe - first appearing in the Neolithic Age around 3500 BC. 
 
Around 160 of these have been discovered on the Island - some were excavated in the 80s but most were studied last in the 1800s with no modern research methods used. 
 
Manx National Heritage and Culture Vannin are supporting the project - Dr Rachel Crellin is part of the team:
