A two-minute silence will be held on Island this Friday.
It'll take place at midday to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan (VJ) Day and honour all those who served and lost their lives in the Far East and Pacific campaigns.
Just before 12pm, a short outdoor service will be held at the Island’s National War Memorial at St John’s.
Chief Minister Alfred Cannan will take part in the national silence and lay a wreath in remembrance, with the public also welcome to attend.
As a further tribute, the Tower of Refuge, Legislative Buildings and the Ramsey Swing Bridge will also be lit up in tribute on Friday night.
