Government has announced that the Manx Wildlife Trust is to help deliver the Agri-Environment scheme.
Approved by Tynwald in 2019, the scheme provides funding for farmers applying for any projects which would help encourage biodiversity, improve sustainability, or mitigate climate change.
A public consultation in 2019 showed 90% of respondents agreed that a new strategy was needed to deliver a sustainable Manx food chain that efficiently produces high quality food to feed the Manx nation.
Environment, Food and Agriculture minister Geoffrey Boot MHK said: ‘Our hard working farmers are the custodians of our environment and this targeted support is helping them play an even bigger role.'
The partnership will see MWT providing free expert farm consultations and helping active farmers with applications, with DEFA maintaining full control of the scheme.
