Murder Trial: Victim's family slam murderer for having no remorse

"It's time to salvage what we can from the wreckage Ian Anderson has left behind" - that was the powerful message from Lorraine Roberts yesterday. 

 

She was in court to see Anderson sentenced to life in prison for murdering her father, 60-year-old Neil Roberts - his body was found at Anderson's home in Castletown in December 2013. 

 

Her victim impact statement was read to the court - in it she said her life "ceased" on finding out her father was dead - telling Anderson "that was my dad you took away from me". 

 

Questioning him as to why he hadn't walked away when he suspected his wife was having an affair with Mr Roberts she said he'd now ruined his own life too. 

 

Ms Roberts, who'd been in court throughout the five week trial, added that she hadn't seen "one shed of remorse" from Anderson throughout the proceedings. 

 

Ian Anderson was sentenced to life in prison - he will serve a minimum of 15 years.
