Murder Trial: Accused was arrested for provoking behaviour

A Castletown man who is standing trial for murder was arrested for provoking behaviour four months before it’s alleged he killed a gardener.

46-year-old Ian Anderson was detained by police after being found at Neil Robert’s home in Ballabeg in July 2013. 

His wife, Alison, was having an affair with the 60-year-old - his body was found at the couple’s home on Queen Street in the early hours of December 1^st. 

Today the jury was told police found Mrs Anderson on the floor in Castletown Square on the evening of July 13^th – the day of the tin bath races – which she'd been watching with her husband. 

Officers took her to Mr Robert’s address – Anderson later turned up, the police were called and he was arrested. 

At a following court appearance he accepted a binding over order which required him to keep the peace for 12 months. 

The jury was also told police were called to 40 Queen Street on July 23^rd – in this instance Mrs Anderson was taken away from the property to Mr Roberts.
