Tynwald will be asked to give an extra £16.9m towards completing the government's regional sewage treatment strategy.
A £23.5m budget was approved for the scheme in 2019, with Manx Utilities Chairman Rob Callister set to ask for the additional funding in this month's Tynwald sitting.
The increase in budget is due to the 'inflationary impact of the current issues in Europe,' meaning commodity costs have gone up.
Subject to approval, the new sewage treatment programme for Peel and Laxey is hoped to be finished by December 2024.
