The Department of Infrastructure says work to improve the Mountain Road before TT begins has been delayed until next week.
The route was due to shut from the Bungalow to the Creg ny Baa earlier this morning for resurfacing and drainage work.
However, an equipment fault at Poortown Quarry means the DOI can't produce the asphalt it needs.
As a result the section will now close from 9.30am on Monday, April 7 until Friday, April 11.
