Police say they may have to close the Mountain Road if people don't drive to the conditions.
Officers took to social media today to say one of their officers - PC Darren Loader is currently stood on the Mountain Road between Brandywell and Windy Corner.
It comes following a crash there this morning.
According to officers water is coming off the mountain and hills, resulting in treacherous driving conditions.
Darren adds people aren't slowing down until they hit standing water - he's waving his arms, and has his blue lights on but people aren't taking notice.
The constabulary warns if driving doesn't improve and there's a risk to the public they may have to close the route.
