Motorcyclist dies following road traffic collision

Police have confirmed there was a fatality in this morning\'s road traffic collision in the south of the Island.

The accident happened at 6.15am on the Castletown to Douglas road in the area of the Fairy Bridge.

It involved a red Honda motorcycle and a black Vauxhall, the rider of the bike received fatal injuries.

The driver of the Vauxhall has since been traced, the road reopened at lunchtime.

The police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision to make contact to assist with the investigation.

The next of kin of the motorcycle rider and the Coroner of Inquests have now been informed.
