A visiting motorcyclist who died on the Creg-ny-Baa back road last week suffered massive blunt force trauma.
58-year-old John Greenwell was found lying upside down in a ditch near to the Honey Hill junction after a single vehicle collision on August 28th.
The motor vehicle technician from Surrey had last been seen an hour before his death.
Today his inquest was officially opened and adjourned at Douglas Courthouse by Coroner John Needham.
The court heard how he’d suffered cardiac arrest at the scene – paramedics had attempted CPR but it was ineffective.
Passing on his condolences to the family Mr Needham released Mr Greenwell’s body so that funeral arrangements can now take place.
