A mother and son from Douglas have admitted changing Manx cash earned through drug dealing into English currency at a Douglas bingo hall.
41 year old Lisa Kim Barnett of Snaefell Road and 20 year old Ross James McWhinnie of Clifton Terrace appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
Barnett pleaded guilty to supplying cannabis and laundering £2,000 in criminal proceeds, while McWhinnie admitted possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply them, money laundering and possessing cannabis.
The court heard police smelled cannabis in a white van McWhinnie was in on Stevenson Way in Anagh Coar on July 11 – a search of his phone uncovered messages about his drug dealing.
Mrs Hughes bailed Barnett to appear for sentencing to a Court of General Gaol Delivery on November 11, and McWhinnie was remanded in custody to appear before the higher court on that date.
