Major roadworks will start today on Ballanard Road in Douglas.
The works will include the refurbishment of the roads and pavements between Glencrutchery and Barrule Road, with a full reconsntruction of sections where the road structure has failed.
The Water and Sewerage Authority will also refurbish the sewers and Manx Gas will replace its apparatus as part of the project.
Work on the first phase will take four weeks - during this time access will be maintained.
Further work will continue after TT with the main construction completed by mid-September.
The road will be opened again for the Festival of Motorcycling and the resurfacing works will be completed by November.
