More roadworks headed to Ramsey

The Department of Infrastructure is reconstructing a key section of road in Ramsey.

The highways services division says that a 200-metre stretch on Bircham Road is in urgent need of attention.

The works will take place between its junctions with Lazayre Road and Poyll Dooey Road.

'Near the end of its operational life' - the changes will ensure the new road meets traffic requirements for the next forty years.

As well as upgrading the drainage system, resurfacing the pavement and installing tactile crossing points for pedestrians, the department will phase in traffic management measures.

Work will start on the road on 14th September - it's expected to last for 31-weeks.
