Island health professionals are watching the UK’s new GP opening hours scheme unfold with ‘dissenting interest’.
Health and Social Care MLC Dudley Butt says he doesn’t believe the system is sustainable.
The new plans are set to benefit seven million patients by GPs choosing to use phone, e-mail and Skype outside of normal hours.
Mr Butt says he doesn’t believe it will be successful, but hopes to find ways of learning from mistakes:
