Lifeboat crew were called out in the early hours of Boxing Day to help search for a missing person.
Douglas lifeboat launched shortly after 1am to help coastguard officers and police in the search along Douglas Promenade and beach.
After several sweeps of the shoreline the lifeboat crew used flares to light up the area around the Tower of Refuge and Victoria Pier.
However at 2.15am the missing person had been found safe and well elsewhere and the Sir William Hillary returned to station.
