The Education and Children Minister has given his full support to plans for a new multi-million pound university facility for Douglas.
The Manx Educational Foundation has proposed to turn the empty Castle Mona Hotel into a state of the art International Technology Centre.
So far the MEF has received support from both the Open University and the British Computer Society.
The Manx government has also agreed to underwrite the project to the sum of £5 million over a 10-year lease period.
