There were 700 applicants on public sector housing waiting lists at the end of September.
That's according to figures from Infrastructure Minister, Ray Harmer, in written reponse to a question in the House of Keys on Tuesday.
The statistics also showed there were 138 vacant (void) properties at the same point.
Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper had asked Mr Harmer how many people were on each list and how many homes were available in each area.
