Does the Chief Minister only legislate when a problem arises?
That was the question put forward by Douglas East MHK Brenda Cannell in the House of Keys yesterday.
It was in relation to Allan Bell's announcement that there are no plans, and no need, to introduce legislation against arranged and forced marriages.
Mrs Cannell and Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer counter argued that its introduction would be better before it potentially became an issue.
However Mr Bell says it’s simply not one of government’s priorities:
Should cohabiting couples get married tax breaks?
Repairs on Peel Power Station to get underway
Manx Care doctor survey to be discussed by Tynwald
Weather warning for snow tonight
MHK queries safety at primary school in Ballabeg
Gales put two ferry sailings at risk tonight
