Tynwald has been well represented at both the Labour and Conservative Autumn conferences in the North West of England in recent days.
Chief Minister Alf Cannan was present at the Conservative Conference in Manchester, along with the Deputy Chief Minister Jane Poole-Wilson.
Whilst there they met with a number of MPs and UK ministers including the Lord Chancellor Alex Chalk MP. The Chief Minister was able to provide an overview of the Island's economy, whilst raising our profile, and the Island's positive economic contribution to the UK and further afield.
Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson attended the Labour conference in Liverpool where he too met with various MPs, and explored the potential relationship between the Island and the UK should Labour triumph at the next general election.
Traditionally the Isle of Man has fared better under a Tory Government but early popularity polls would suggest Labour will triumph at the next general election, currently scheduled for no later than January 2025.
