The Island's Refugee Policy Statement is meaningless unless the Island can formally accept refugees.
That's according to Douglas East MHK Joney Faragher, who will urge Tynwald this month to reject the policy statement and report laid before the house in October.
Owing to our relationship with the UK the Island can't process asylum applications, nor can it house refugees.
Ms Faragher argues that this could feasibly be overturned should meaningful dialogue be entered into.
