Tynwald is being asked to vote in favour of not giving MLCs jobs in government departments.
The idea makes up part of the first motion being submitted by new Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper.
He wants Tynwald to agree that it's of the opinion that Members of the Legislative Council should not 'ordinarily' be eligible for appointment as ministers or departmental members.
In addition the Liberal Vannin Party member doesn't want to see them sitting on statutory boards either.
The motion will be put forward when the court sits on October 18th.
