MHK wants decision to allow landfill site decision reversed

An MHK will ask Tynwald to overturn a planning decision allowing a landfill site in the north of the Island to operate until 2030.

When the court sits in December, Garff MHK Daphne Caine will ask members to back a motion calling for a Council of Ministers' planning decision to be annulled.

Comin has greenlit proposals for Wright's Pit North in Bride to run until December 2030, with another year for a restoration scheme to be finished.

The Department of Infrastructure applied for permission after less waste than expected was taken to the site.
