MHK voices concern over Pinewood deal

The Treasury Minister has faced critics in Tynwald today as he put forward his case for a major investment in Pinewood Film Studios.

Minister Teare is seeking approval for a £24m spend which would secure roughly a 20% stake in the major film studio.

In return they would manage the Island’s media development fund, formerly a responsibility of CinemaNX.

East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell said members haven’t been given enough information, and has asked for the debate to be adjourned until October.
