An MHK is demanding the government holds back plans to phase out MiCards for benefits and pensions payments.
Douglas East member Joney Faragher will ask Tynwald to back a motion calling for the government to pause the move until it can find alternative ways to pay people their entitlements.
The system is due to be scrapped at the end of the year as government plans to pay directly into people's bank accounts.
But during December's Tynwald sitting, she'll ask for a six-month pause to help those who don't have bank accounts.
