MHK calls for age cap to be lifted on Breast Screening recall

Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer will this Tuesday call on Tynwald to introduce automatic recall for breast screening for all women.

Currently the recall system sees women aged between 50 and 70 summoned every two years for the potentially life saving procedure.

Mr Singer praised the automatic recall, saying it substantially improves the survival rates for breast cancer, therefore he is of the opinion the age cap should be removed and the service extended to all women on the Island.

He'll be putting his proposal to Tynwald in Tuesday's sitting.
