Forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning for frost this morning.
The notice will be in place until 11am with higher ground and some sheltered low lying areas the most likely to be affected by the conditions.
The met office says because of clear skies and light to moderate winds ground temperatures are likely to have fallen close to freezing in some regions during the night.
They add those temperatures are expected to recover during this morning.
