Meetings will update public on police modernisation plans

The police will update the public next week on their current major programme of modernisation.

The meetings have been set up to give the public greater insight into the ongoing work to restructure the service whilst maintaining community safety at a time of reduced budgets.

The Police Consultative Forum has organised the sessions stating the public need to know how much impact the recently announced changes will have on levels of policing.

The modernisation includes plans to close two police stations and reduce the number of officers.

There will be a session on Monday at St Andrew's Church Hall in Douglas at 7pm, and one on Thursday at the Castletown Civic Centre.
