Meetings will allay concerns over police cuts says Minister

Reassuring the public over cuts to neighbourhood policing is a top priority for the Department of Home Affairs.

Last night the first in a series of public meetings was held in Douglas - they've been organised by the Police Consultative Forum. 
 
Minister Juan Watterson says the forum wants to find out the views of the public: 
 
 
His department is undergoing radical reorganisation to meet budget challenges - this includes the closure of two stations, fewer officers and changes to the way officers are tasked. 
 
The Minister says he can understand people's worries and is encouraging them to share their views:
