The meat plant says a bull which ended up being shot by armed police was able to escape through a transport vehicle's side access panel.
Earlier this week, officers were filmed dispatching the animal because of the threat posed to the public.
The Isle of Man Meat Company say it's completed an early investigation into the incident, explaining the bull escaped out the main gate of its yard.
It adds it's referred itself for further independent review by the Health and Safety Executive and an animal welfare specialist, to minimise the risk of it happening again.
