The Government has paid over £20m to the Meat Plant and Fatstock Marketing Association in the last 15 years.
The yearly subvention figure in 2008/09 stood at £872,239, with the latest amount totaling £2.6m
A 'turnaround plan' is currently in the works after a damming report last year found serious failings within the loss making operation.
The 5 year plan that's currently being developed by the MD of Isle of Man Meats, and the Board of Directors will aim to highlight a number of efficiencies in the short term that could bring down the total amount of subvention needed, as they work towards a more sustainable future.
The subvention topic was raised by MHK John Wannenburgh, who asked the question for written answer over the summer Tynwald recess.
