The government’s former chief financial officer has been awarded an MBE.
Mark Shimmin says he is surprised and honoured to be selected as part of the Queen’s New Year Honours list.
The brother of Economic Development Minister John Shimmin – Mark spent 30 years working for the civil service.
The award comes after his work to deliver fiscal stability for the Island – he was also the driving force behind the Small Countries Financial Management Programme.
