Officers from the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team are asking people to be mindful of horses on the roads today.
An equestrian event is taking place in the Maughold area, meaning there will be more adults and children on horses and increased transportation of horses throughout the day.
Police said there will be a number of horses and riders travelling in pairs or single-file wearing hi-vis.
Caution signs will also be displayed in vulnerable areas to remind road users.
Their advice for motorists is to slow down to a maximum of 15mph, don’t sound the horn or rev engines, pass horses by at least a car's width if possible and to be patient.
